A swatch of Jabba the Hut's barge sail seen in the third chapter of the George Lucas blockbusters Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

The giant floating barge where Luke and his comrades make their action packed escape from being fed to the Sarlacc deep in the desert, featured these deep burgundy sails across the roof. Designed by a nautical expert, the sails were actually fully functional pieces which meant they needed to be furled up whenever the winds swept up, to make sure the set wasn't ripped apart by the force. Because the material turned out to be so robust, ILM cut the sails from the set in Buttercup Valley once filming had completed in 1982 to be used as sand bags, some of which was acquired by the propstore of London and is presented here in this custom built display. The frame features a small swatch measuring 10cm x 10cm (4" x 4") with unique marks from it's time on set, and is accompanied by stills of the impressive barge in the desert and laser cut mount board.
